The Best Yes

Thursday, Jan 15, 2015 9:30 am - 11:30 am
Main Campus, Women

Thursdays, January 15 – February 26

Are you living with the stress of an overwhelmed schedule and aching with the sadness of an underwhelmed soul? Most of us spend a lot of our lives figuring out when to say yes and how to say no. But we don't find space for our souls until we learn to step past the yes and no of daily decisions and seek out a third option: the best yes.

The best yes is the choice that shapes all our other choices. It's what allows us to play our part in God's plan, to spend energy and focus on our passion on the assignments that really are ours.

In this six-session, video-based Bible study for women, learn how to make use of the two most powerful words, yes and no. Using biblical teaching and practical insights this study will better equip you to discern the best yes answers for your life.

Leader: Pam Macaluso
Cost of materials: $8 (Online price includes a convenience fee of 50¢.)

Teacup Ministry, Matthews

Tuesday, Apr 07, 2015 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Life Groups, Women
In the Matthews Area

Come empty; be filled – food, fun, fellowship and faith
To help women connect in a deeper way with God, each other, and themselves (see Matthew 22:37-39).
Leader: Gail Tolles

What is teacups? This is a monthly gathering (first Tuesday each month) of women with the purpose of connecting in three ways:

Social Connection: A grownup tea party! A place where women can talk, laugh and enjoy being together while also enjoying yummy drinks and treats.

Deeper Connection: Storytelling! One woman each month will share her personal story with the group.

Spiritual Connection: Teacup swap! Each woman will bring a teacup and will place a personal prayer request inside of it. At the end of the evening, every woman will take home someone else's teacup and prayer request and will pray for that woman over the next month.

If you would like to be part in this ministry, please register and a leader will email you an Evite invitation to each teacup meeting. You only need to register for the teacup ministry once on this website and any future meetings will be coordinated through Evite.

Please note: there is no childcare for this off-campus event.

Pure Religion 5K to Help Stamp Out Human Trafficking

Saturday, Apr 18, 2015 8:00 am - 11:00 am
Church-wide, Pure Religion
April 18, 2015
9:00 a.m.
Race Starts in the Student Life Center Parking Lot
To register: www.purereligion5k.com

Central church invites you to join us for our 5th annual Pure Religion 5K to promote awareness and fight against human trafficking. There are millions enslaved worldwide – more than at any other point in human history. After drug trafficking, human trafficking, or modern-day slavery, is the second largest criminal industry in the world. We can't imagine the horror of a 12-year-old girl being sold to a brothel and there are an estimated 100,000 minors in the United States alone trapped in sex trafficking. Please join with hundreds in the Charlotte community as we walk/run for freedom of those enslaved.

Early bird rates until February 28, 2015.
T-shirt deadline is April 6, 2015.
Sponsors are needed for the 2015 race. Contact Brenda at brendal@centralchurchofgod.org
