Commands of Christ
A simple reading of the gospels confirms that these books are not as minutely prescriptive in some areas as the Mosaic law was. There is a wealth of clear commands that, when obeyed, bring stability, direction, and fulfillment to our lives. Scripture is emphatic on the priority of knowing and heeding Christ's commands. Keeping His commands is the strongest evidence of knowing, following, and loving Christ. Rejecting them brings judgment. As the Master said, "Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock".
