Outreach to Children
ALEXANDER CHILDREN’S CENTER
We work to make children with serious behavioral and emotional problems feel special, loved, and very important to us and to the Lord.
How you can help:
Lunch Buddy
Once a week, you get to have lunch with the child with whom you are paired.
Mentoring
Once a week, you will encourage and support the child with whom you are paired.
Tutoring
Help a child with his/her studies anytime between 8:30am and 2:30pm.
FAITH, HOPE, & LOVE
This program is designed to make a permanent impact on our community’s children. Through education and one-on-one mentoring, we nurture academic achievement, spiritual growth, and emotional well being in children who live in fragile circumstances.
How you can help:
Mentoring
Through the love of Christ, change the life of a child. Your commitment is only one hour per week.
TOTES FOR TOTS TO TEENS
Mecklenburg County Foster Care
Children entering foster care rarely come into custody with personal items to call their own. For this reason, Central assists Mecklenburg Youth and Family Services by providing bags stuffed with items to help them transition into foster care as easily as possible. Each bag is created to meet the child’s needs and to be age and gender specific. Over 250 children enter foster care each year in Mecklenburg County alone, and Central provides a bag for each one of them.
At any given moment, approximately 200 children are cleared and waiting for a new family. Central encourages and supports members of our church to reach out to Mecklenburg County children who don’t have families. If you’re interested in learning more about the rewards( and trials) of foster parenting, please contact Ashley.
ALL GOD’S CREATIONS
Central’s class for children with special needs
This is a wonderful opportunity to teach children about Jesus. We have lots of one on one time with the kids, so we can show them how much God loves them and how much their church family cares about them. We need volunteers to help during the 8:30am and 10:30am Sunday services and Wednesday night at 7pm. We would also love to hear from you if you have a child who could benefit from this specialized class.
