SAMARITAN'S  PURSE HEART PROJECT

Through the generosity of churches, hospitals, and host families, Samaritan’s Purse has been able to provide life-saving heart surgery for more than 200 children from Bosnia, Uganda, Kosovo, and Mongolia at many hospitals in the U.S. and Canada. Central will again be the host church for two children in early 2008, and we are currently interviewing host families to open their homes to the children, their mothers, and their translator for three weeks at a time. If you would like to offer your home and hospitality, please let us know.

 

HOLIDAY EVENTS

The holiday season is our busiest time of the year!  
We reach out in a special way to all of the organizations with which we work, and we always need extra hands.  This ministry is a meaningful (and fun!) way to share this joyous season with your friends and family while helping those who need it most!

How you can help:

Adopt-a-Family
Central families that are experiencing financial difficulty are adopted by other families or groups who provide them with food, gifts, clothing, etc. during the holidays. This is a short-term commitment and is a true blessing for those who do not have the means to buy gifts for their children or a tasty holiday meal.

Gourmet Gift Baskets  
Volunteers prepare and deliver gourmet gift baskets to families in our church that have recently lost a loved one.

Fruit and Candy Bags
We prepare and deliver around 1000 fruit/candy bags to senior citizens during the holiday season.

Christmas Party
We invite about 300 elderly residents from around Charlotte to come to Central and have a night of food, fun, prizes, and holiday entertainment. We need volunteers to help set up and facilitate this event.

Christmas Celebrations  
We want to show everyone in all of our organizations that they are special and loved.  The joy of Christ’s birth is celebrated at many of these locations during the holidays!

Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child
This ministry reaches the remote corners of the world to bring joy, hope, and the message of Jesus Christ to millions of children who are victims of war, disease, disaster, and poverty. Please help bring joy to these children by filling a shoe box with gifts to be delivered to them at Christmas. Volunteers are also needed to facilitate the different tables around Central’s campus on pick-up and drop-off days.
