Ecuador was the birthplace of the Central International Missions Program when our very first mission team went to Ambato in September, 1992 to assist in building the Church of God orphanage. Today Central supplies 100% of the support for the Fundacion Jesus Me Ama, an organization which feeds between 80-120 children per day.
The Jesus Loves Me Foundation is a non-governmental organization with deep Christian principles. It is located in the city of Ambato, which is situated in the Tungurahua Province, under the covering of Central Church of God in Charlotte, NC.
The Jesus Loves Me Foundation was initiated as a dining room to support boys, girls, and adolescents who earn a living shining shoes and selling other products in the city of Ambato. After seeing the growing poverty in the country, Yolanda Jihon felt the need to reach out to the boys and girls in the school system who were the most impoverished. The Foundation supports them by serving them lunch Monday through Friday, tutoring, psychological assistance, health care, as well as training in cutting designs, sewing, and crafts.
In January 2001, they officially became the JESUS LOVES ME FOUNDATION since they were able to establish various programs of direct help to those who needed assistance from the Institution.

Central is involved with the ministry of the Metropolitan Church in Santiago, pastored by Rev. Ricardo Ramirez. The servant evangelism program at the church remains a potent force in the community through social ministry. Their commitment is to provide “inspiration through service”. During the past year, they have seen a significant membership increase, with attendance more than doubling in the last 5 years. Since March 2006, Metroplitan Church has received 35 new believers. Out of these 35 believers, they have formally welcomed 30 as new official members, with 23 having been baptized.
Currently , the church is in the process of implementing an innovative local Christian professional childcare for infants, toddlers and preschool children within their church facilities in the city of Santiago.
As the ministry grows, the leadership is continually encouraging and equipping those who are willing to reach out through their related programs. Today, an unprecendented opportunity exists to reach college students who attend a brand new university campus next to their church. Their strategy is to minister to a community of students who are united around a free meal inside the church's fellowship hall.
Metropiltan Church is constantly exploring new ways to tap into the community needs and to share the power of the Gospel.
