At 6:40PM, everything shuts down and ALL students partcipate in our wee
kly small group ministry, "Cross Groups". These small groups are designed to help students UNPLUG and CONNECT with their peers on a smaller, more personal, and more intimate level. It's also a great and non-threatening environment for students to bring their unchurched friends who need to know Jesus.
Immediately following Cross Groups, we all come together and point our eyes and hearts toward Jesus. Our student musicians and singers help lead us into a time of power packed corporate worship.
It's a time where you can freely come before the Lord and allow songs of praise to bring honor to God and encourage your spirit. Every moment is different but special, our posture is never the same. There are times when we shout boldly unto God and other times when we are frozen and still in awe of the Lord's presence. We wait anxiously to hear the rightly divided word of truth as it is spoken into our lives. You can see seeds being planted one small moment at time, and feel the living water as it's poured out. We all have a purpose and a destiny of our own... we are preparing to rise and possess the land.
There is no magic formula to meeting the spiritual needs of all students. We have an extremely diverse population of students each at different points in their lives.
One of the ways we cater to the needs of our students is to have "split services". Split services are held the last Wednesday of each month April through September. Traditionally, jr. high and sr. high students are separated for their ministry time. In some instances we take that a step further and separate students by gender. All in all we understand that you can't minister to students that you don't know and understand. These ministry times help us to specifically target some of the questions, concerns, and struggles of students at their level. It also allows students to become more familiar with their grade level peers.
